Editorial policy

Who is responsible for Spatia, the rules our guides follow, and what we do when we get something wrong.

Who publishes Spatia

Spatia is published by STUDIO DID IT and led by Jihyun Lee, an interior designer with more than 25 years of practice across residential and public projects, including the National Library of Korea in Sejong, the Seoul Museum of Art and Dongdaemun Design Plaza. Her project background is listed in full.

STUDIO DID IT is responsible for everything published here. If you want to know who stands behind a specific claim, the contact page reaches us directly.

What a guide has to contain

Interior advice is easy to write and hard to use, because most of it skips the part that decides the answer. Our guides are held to two rules.

  • Specifics, not adjectives. A paint recommendation carries its light reflectance value, a lighting recommendation carries a color temperature, a layout recommendation carries a clearance in inches. “A bright color” and “warm light” are not answers.
  • Named sources or nothing. A figure, a standard or a statistic either comes with the name of where it came from, so you can check it, or it does not appear. We would rather publish a guide with fewer numbers than one with numbers you cannot verify.

How we use AI

We use AI tools in our publishing process, for drafting and editing passes and for generating illustrative room images. A person sets the direction and checks the claims before anything publishes.

Most images on this site are generated concept illustrations rather than photographs of a specific room. Where an image shows a room, it is showing the idea, not a place we visited. We say so rather than let a render pass as documentation.

One thing we do not do: invent experience. If a guide says something was measured, tested or lived with, that happened. We removed several author notes from this site in September 2026 for failing that test, and we would rather a guide say nothing about its author than say something untrue.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Paint values get revised, products get discontinued, standards get updated, and we make mistakes on our own. Write to us through the contact page and point at the line. Substantive corrections are made in the post itself, and the update date at the top of the post changes with them.

Money

Spatia names specific products when a specific product is the answer. We are not paid to recommend any of them, and no brand reviews our guides before publishing. Spatia also promotes Archie, the design assistant built by STUDIO DID IT. That is our own product, and it appears as a clearly marked link or card, never as a recommendation dressed up as editorial advice.
