About Spatia

Spatia is an interior design publication that helps people make the rooms they already live in feel better. We cover room makeovers, color and paint, lighting, small-space layouts, and the seasonal problems real homes run into, from a bedroom that will not cool down to a living room that feels cluttered even when it is clean.

What we write about

Every guide starts from a real question a homeowner or renter is asking, and answers it in plain language with specific, testable advice. We favor changes you can make this weekend over full renovations, and we explain the reasoning so you can adapt it to your own space rather than copy a photo.

Who is behind Spatia

Spatia is led by Jihyun Lee, an interior designer with 25 years of practice and the youngest recipient of Korea's Master Designer Award. Her project history spans the Seoul Museum of Art, the National Library in Sejong City, the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (with Zaha Hadid), Tower Palace residences, Samsung Electronics' Xi'an campus, and collaborations with brands including Louis Vuitton and H&M. She is the founder of STUDIO DID IT, the studio that publishes Spatia, and you can read her founder's letter on the studio site.

Articles on Spatia are written by Jihyun Lee and the Spatia editorial team, and every article is reviewed before it is published. When we cite a figure, such as a recommended color temperature or an indoor humidity range, we name the source so you can check it yourself.

Publishing and ownership

Spatia is owned and operated by SDI Creative Technologies Ltd, the company behind the STUDIO DID IT interior design studio. You can see the studio's own work on its about page. STUDIO DID IT also makes Archie, an interior design app listed on the Apple App Store and on Google Play. Many of our readers want to see an idea in their own room before they commit to it. That is what Archie is for. Send it a photo of your space and it suggests changes that fit the room you actually have. Spatia stays useful whether or not you ever use Archie, but the two are built to work together.
